Carefree Radon Testing

What Should I Know About Radon?

Radon is a common-place cause of cancer. It is proven to lead to lung cancer in people.

38%+ of properties in the Carefree area have a radon concentration above the DNS action amount.

Radon comes from the topsoil, not the house. No home, new or old, is exempt from radon.

Every property interacts with the ground beneath it uniquely. That is part of the reason why properties next to each other have radically different radon gas levels.

Radon gas concentration will fluctuate on different days and seasonally inside a normal range. A quick radon gas sample is a snapshot and a reliable metric of whether or not the structure has a radon gas accumulation.

Radon has a lifespan of about half a week. radon gas saturation will not be worse if the property is closed for months or years.

How Does Radon Gas Infiltrate your structure?

Houses are not built to be completely sealed.

Gas will enter through each ground-facing gap in the property such as drainage, plumbing pipes, and minor flaws in the foundation’s concrete.

The way to know with confidence the accumulation of radon gas in the property is to order a radon test.

Your Radon Gas Testing Procedure

Probing a house for radon gas is a unique procedure when completed concurrently with a property transaction.

The radon gas expert will situate the radon monitors in the structure. Radon gas detectors will be located in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. On average a few monitors are installed in the house for the radon gas testing.

The radon gas technician will close every window and door, shut the vent on the fireplace, and ensure the heater or AC is operating in the standard manner. Your radon professional will additionally seal every required window with anti-tampering tape to confirm that closed home conditions are met.

The radon devices are stored in the building for several days to record the saturation of radon gas in the house. An expert will revisit the structure after the radon measurement is completed to return the probes and generate a report.
