Paradise Valley Radon Testing

What to Know About Radon?

Radon gas is a common-place carcinogen. Radon is scientifically proven to cause lung cancer in humans.

38%+ of properties in the Paradise Valley area have a radon saturation higher than the dangerous level.

Radon gas naturally occurs in the soil, not the structure. No property, new or old, is fully shielded from radon gas.

Each property meshes with the soil uniquely. This is why properties next to one another may have majorly different radon gas concentrations.

Radon gas saturation will shift on different days and seasonally inside an acceptable range. A quick radon measurement is a snapshot and a solid metric of whether or not the land has a radon gas saturation.

Radon has a half-life of 3.8 days. As such, radon concentration won’t be any greater if the structure is enclosed for days, months, or years.

How Does Radon Infiltrate Your Dwelling?

No property is completely airtight.

Vapors may suffuse through each penetration in the property such as drains, plumbing pipes, and slight flaws in the foundation’s concrete.

The way to know confidently the accumulation of radon gas in the house is to contract a radon test.

Your Radon Gas Testing Method

Testing a house for radon gas is a unique process when delivered with a house sale.

A radon gas specialist will situate the radon gas monitors in the dwelling. Radon detectors will be located in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. Typically between one and three devices are placed in the home for the radon gas analysis.

Our radon gas expert will close windows, close the flue on the fireplace, and ensure the HVAC system is operating in the required manner. Your radon gas technician will also treat any required window with tamper indication tape to ensure that ventilation conditions are maintained.

The radon gas monitors are stored in the house for 2-3 days measuring the levels of radon gas in the structure. A technician will return to the home once the radon test is finished to return the probes and create a report.

Please call today at 480-531-6502 for a no-pressure estimate! Our radon testing consultants will meet with you to ask about your property, measure your space, and get you going on making your Paradise Valley house one you can be proud of!
