Radon Testing in Casa Grande

What is Radon Gas?

Radon gas is a Class A carcinogen. It is proven to cause lung cancer in humans.

A large number of houses in the Casa Grande area have a radon level higher than the actionable amount.

Radon gas filters out of the silt, not the house. No house- new or old – is fully encapsulated against radon intrusion.

Each property meshes with the dirt beneath it differently. That is part of the reason why properties next door to each other may have significantly different radon levels.

Radon gas saturation will rise or fall every day and with the seasons inside a normal range. A short-term radon gas test measures a small time period and is a good indicator of if the land has a radon gas accumulation.

Radon has a half-life of about half a week. As such, radon gas saturation won’t be any higher if the house is sealed for years, months, or days.

How Does Radon Gas Penetrate a Dwelling?

No dwelling is absolutely hermetically sealed.

Radon gas may seep in through any grounded vent in the home such as drains, utility connections, and small gaps in the concrete work.

The method to know with confidence the saturation of radon in the house is to have a radon test.

Radon Gas Test Procedures

Probing a house for radon gas is a special service when done concurrently with a real estate purchase.

Our radon gas professional will install the radon detectors in the home. Radon gas probes will be dropped off in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. It is typical that up to three devices are located in the home for the radon analysis.

The radon gas professional will shut windows, seal the vent on the fireplace, and ensure the HVAC system is functioning in a standard manner. Our radon professional will additionally mark every necessary window with tamper indication tape to make sure that ventilation standards are met.

The radon devices remain in the property for two or three days to record the prevalence of radon gas in the home. A specialist will revisit the property once the radon testing is done to remove the monitors and create a report.

Give us a call today for a no-cost pricing estimate! Our radon testing experts will meet with you to hear about your property, take measurements, and get you going on making your Casa Grande home one you can enjoy without reservation!
