Surprise Radon Testing

What’s Radon?

Radon gas is a common carcinogen. It is proven to instigate lung cancer in children and adults.

Many houses in the Surprise area have a radon gas saturation near or above the DNS action limit.

Radon naturally occurs in the silt, not the building. No house, new or old, is exempt from radon.

Each and every house interfaces with the soil beneath it uniquely. That is why properties next door to one another have dramatically different radon gas concentrations.

Radon gas levels will change every day and with the seasons within an acceptable range.

A short-term radon sample measures a single day or week and is a reliable indicator of whether or not the land has a radon gas issue.

Radon gas has a half-life of only a few days. That means radon gas levels will not be worse if the structure is closed for months, days, or years.

How Does Radon Filter into a house?

Houses are not built to be totally draft-proof.

Radon can enter through each ground-facing gap in the structure such as drainage, plumbing pipes, and small imperfections in the concrete work.

The method to know confidently the saturation of radon in the house is to contract a radon test.

Radon Gas Testing Procedure

Inspecting a house for radon gas is an important service when completed concurrently with a property transaction.

Our radon gas specialist will situate the radon gas probes in the house.

Radon gas probes are dropped off in crawl spaces, the level above crawl spaces, and any room touching the earth. For most properties, several probes are placed in the house for the radon gas measurement.

The radon gas professional will seal every window and door, close the vent on the fireplace, and ensure the air conditioning is running in the standard manner.

Your radon technician will also mark every necessary window with tamper indication tape to ensure ventilation standards are upheld.

The radon gas apparatus are stored in the home for several days measuring the amount of radon gas in the structure.

An expert will return to the home once the radon test is complete to remove the analyzers and write a report.

Please call today for a no-cost pricing estimate! Our radon testing consultants will come to visit to ask about your property, take measurements, and get you on target on making your Surprise house one you can enjoy completely!
